Want to travel in South East Asia in July. Bad plan?
My girlfriend and I have a month off work in July, and we would like to go travelling in South East Asia (particularly India / Thailand). Is this a bad idea because of the rainy season? Anyone have any recommendations for places to go at this time of year?
Reply to this Hello Dan 😊
I was in Thailand during the rainy season one year. It is not so bad. Just a few hours rain and sometimes none per day with warm sunshine for the rest of the day. Most of the rain also falls at night.
On thing you may consider a problem is that the boats dont go to the islands if the sea is too rough, which sometimes happens during the rainy season.
The main advantage is that everyplace is not crowded with tourists and sometimes things like accomodation is cheaper.

Reply to this I was in Bali in July also Malaysian Borneo - great season. Going back this summer too!
Reply to this India may not be such a great idea....but Thailand should be save. It's the wet season around Phuket, but it is dry at this time of the year around Koh Samui.
Jonathan has a right point, you may want to go to Bali or Borneo....best time of the year to get there.

Plenty to think about. If we did Bali and Borneo do you think we'd have enough time with only four weeks?
