Bangkok to Phuket?

How should I travel from Bangkok to Phuket?

I've been looking into what the best way to get from Bangkok to Phuket would be and I'm completely confused.

I can fly there via Air Asia for around $50, I can take a train but then it looks like I would have to take an additional 6 hour bus ride from the train station to the coast, or I can take a bus, which makes me a little worried about keeping my personal belongings safe.

What is the most time efficient way for me to get from Bangkok to Phuket in February? I don't mind going over night on either the bus or the train, I just don't want to waste too much time getting from one place to the other. Reply to this

The plane, way easier...and you may spend a few more $, but you'll arrive rested. Reply to this

Take a plane if you want to save some time. Make sure you know which airport the plane leaves from. Some local within Thailand flights leave from Don Muang. I prefer Thai Air. Some of the smaller airlines may have some weight restrictions - check first.

If you do use a bus get one at the bus terminal. The buses that have had problems with thefts and breakdowns have been the ones where you get the ticket in the Khao San Road area.

When you travel on a plane, bus, train even a taxi - never put our passport in your checked in bag, same for cash, meds, jewelry and valuables like that. Keep your valuables with you at your seat or on your person. You could put the important stuff in a smaller bag that you take with you when you use the toilet or walk around. Make sure your bags can be locked.

Good luck. Reply to this
