What kind of the road is between Luang Prabang and Udomxai? Is it a paved road? How long does it take? Reply to this

Four years ago it was one of the concrete roads paid for by China in the 70s. Not sure what it's like now. As far as Lao roads go, it's pretty good.

But trip took me 9 hours. Reply to this

This trip should be down to about 5-6 hours now. Road is paved and in reasonable condition. Reply to this

I got the bus between Luang Prabang and Vientiane. 9 or 10 hours i think it was.

I think Udomxai is on that route.

The road was ok. Sealed most of the way. The scareiest part was it was way way way up in the mountains and a huge business wizzing round the corners with hundreds of meters to the bottom of the mountain was scary, but they drive the route all the time so figure it had to be ok.

Still here to tell the story.

The bus drivers escort also carried an AK-47 which was interesting....Didn't notice this till we got to Vientiane. But over all it was ok. Reply to this
