family wants to stay two months in safe area

I would like to go for two months (or more) to Mexico with my wife and two kids (6 and 3 years old). Somewhere safe and a bit away from the bigger tourist areas. Any suggestions? Reply to this

that is a big question! there are hundreds of great places you could go......you want beach, mountains, big city etc etc? oaxaca is worth a look as is any of the bigger towns on the oaxaca state coast, they have a very livable feel with friendly people. it does see a fair few tourists but still retains the mexican feel!
i lived in queretaro which was nice, but is a big city (by my standards!!) and a bit far from the coast for my liking. there are many places in central mex that are safe and not to touristy......id be keeping my kids away from most border towns at the moment but other than that most towns in mex fit your specifications. good luck Reply to this
