anyone got any suggestions as how to get from ushuaia to el calafate cheaply. just checked aerolineas argentina and they want £230 for a one way flight in april. this flight was £85 two weeks ago.
is it possible to get a flight with another airline at the airport for a cheaper price?

did you try LAN?
I don't think there are cheap airlines here.... not even Lade (government airlines)
Otherwise, bus will be a cheaper option although it will take like 18 hours to get to El Calafate...

wait a bit and the Aerolineas price may come down. We booked last minute from El Calafate to Ushuaia in Nov 2007 and the price was very reasonable.

You can go with Aerolineas or Lan by air or by bus. The higher season might be bringing the prices up a bit. Flights within Argentina get pretty expensive. And I agree with Barry, just keep you eye on the rates. They tend to go up and down with availability. I am heading to Ushuaia on Saturday so let me know if you need any information. Reply to this
