Hi Foks, I was just wondering where people are going for Crimbo & New Year(01-01-09). I'm backpacking on my own for 4 week over this period and just wondered where everyone else is going.

Ta very much.

I'll be in Beijing. I think if you are in any major city then there will be something big happening. And if you are looking for a party then places like Thailand will be even more poppin' than usual. Reply to this

I think there should be plenty going on, on Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand at Christmas and NY eve. But dont leave it until too close to either to get there or all the accomodation is likely to be full. Expect the prices for accomodation to go up on those dates on Koh Pha Ngan.

There used to be a site called http://www.globalparties.net/
It was good for finding things like where the New Years parties etc are but I have not been able to access the site for a while now. Does anyone know why? Maybe they have a new web address. Reply to this

Hi Tony. I was in Koh PangNana last year and it was brilliant. I did the full moon party and then two days later, the half moon party in the forest! Mell's right though, dont wait until the last minute to book, you could even struggle now. I didnt have a place to stay.
Have a great time you lucky man Reply to this
