Drove 3 hours from Otavalo to Quito
Stopped at the equator on the way

Quito seems a great city, nicer than Lima. There deem to be a lot of police and army about at night, but generally seems pretty safe

Went to the casino with the group last night. I won $83 at blackjack and another guy won $66 ' we bought the bottle of rum at a bar in a square with a marenque band. Independence day celebrations here mlots of trucks driving through the streets playing loud music and whistling and shouting as they party

I had a late night but not as late as some who finished the whiskey at 9am!!

Went up the cablecar today, great views over quito

Off to galapagos for 8 days then back here for a few days, may enroll for some spanish lesssons. Then hopefully fly down to chile for a week before NZ at christmas
