At the dinner the night before there was a heated discussion as to what time we would leave in the morning for the last day. Some people wanted to leave at 4am to get the sunrise while others(myself included) would rather have a few to many beers and have 4 hours extra in bed. I knew the guides just wanted to leave at 4am to get back earlier and the sunrise wouldn't be that good. So a compromise was made that half would leave at 4am and the rest at 8am. So this meant we got a new guide who was cool, had a great session and got to sleep late, it was perfect.

So we headed onto the Salt Flats. Im glad everyone got to see this last cos this is the most spectacular part of the trip. And as we changed cars we were in with Lucia and Quique from Spain, so we had a translator and all!! So for the next few hours were spent taking silly photos and and learning about the salt plains. It was created when the sea dried up and now they may struggle to protect them in the future cos it contains chemicals such as lithium (mobiles, camera batteries) which could make a fortune for Bolivia. Hopefully it wont happen as at the moment they only harvest the salt for our dinners!! I wont go on to much as the pics speak for themselves.

After that we headed to the train graveyard for out last stop. The trains were all British and used to transport silver from the mountains. It was a great jungle gym anyway!!

So after that we hung around for our bus to La Paz. Melissa's back had failed her at this stage due to the bumpy 3 day ride and she was walking around like a granny. We were glad to be getting a bus to La Paz that night to get ready for Christmas......
