The Oasis in the middle of the sand dunes
Today was a very slow moving chilled out day as we were all feeling not so amazing after the many pisco sours ingested the night before. So, after getting up early and watching the sun rise from our sleeping bags we asked our buggy driver to drive us SLOWLY back to the base. That he did NOT do! He went faster than the day before so those of us who already weren’t feeling sick were 100% feeling it by the time we got back down to the bottom. All except Elle who seemed as chipper as ever!! When we got to the bottom we all needed to lie down for a while before starting another bus journey! Most of us got a cooked breakfast (which apparently never consists of bacon over here!) of eggs and bread rolls with fresh juice. Started feeling a bit better and then we all fell asleep in the sun lying by the pool. Went and visited a real oasis (in pics) which was pretty amazing! Then started heading onwards and upwards to Nazca. Elle was still feeling great and Rach was now up the front of the bus with the window open! When we reached Nazca

Our truck! :)
we climbed up a tower thingee and had a look at a few of the lines but we didn’t see too much and didn’t worry cos the 2 of us knew we were seeing them all the next day from the plane. We were camping tonight but were able to use the pool and internet etc at the place in Nazca so all of us decided against going into the small town, and all again fell asleep by the pool, to be woken up 2 hours later to do tent putting up training! First dinner cooked by group 1 was sensational! We have a lot to live up to now! Then after emailing home and playing some cards it was an extremely early night to bed. The tents r ok but have a fricken pole right in the centre of the door so there was many collisions and I am sure many more to come! Having heaps of fun! 

What an adventure!
Dear Elle and Rach, LOVE your very amusing blog write-ups and your photos are just great! How's the bus? Comfy to travel in? Yep, the Nazca lines have always been a mystery that's never been unravelled. So many amazing places to see when you travel and things to do. That desert sounded absolutely delicious by the way. I sent an email last night Elle. We had a lockdown at school yesterday. High drama! Lots of love, Mum (Bev)
