The awesome view from the top of the sand dunes Today was an extreeeemly early start at 5.45am meeting in the lobby in lima. Then off we headed to start a full on day of adventures! After driving for 4 ish hours we arrived at paracas. Bit rough around the edges but right on the coast and some really cute lil shops and cafes. We speedboated across to the Ballastas islands, which was full and I mean FULL of birds!!! It was insane! And some sea lions and a few penguins even. Very cool Rach decided on trying something new in Paracas on the drink front so tried the drink called “special”. And special it was! Bleugh!!
After paracas we hopped back on the bus for another hour an a half ad arrived in Huaccachinna! Such a gorgeous place completely surrounded with sand dunes for 100s of miles! Incredible. So we spent a few hours in this lil resort right by an actual oasis, by the pool and getting some sun. Then headed on our dune buggy to go for a 40min ride up and down and around at a fast but very fun speed! Good times! When we reached a few peaks we got a sand board

Our sanddunes bonfire night! each and lay on our fronts and speed down on our stomachs! Sooo fun! We all wanted to try standing up cos there was straps on the boards but they wouldn’t let us! Then we got to a point and a few men had arranged a lil bonfire and a bbq for us to set up camp! Clear, gorgeous night! So we were introduced to pisco sours here! And boy were they strong! Our group apparently were the only group to ever run out of it and had to do an extra buggy run to get more! Very fun night which included a group very impressive fire dance around the fire! So eventually went to sleep under the stars snuggled up in our sleeping bags! Good day! Great day!
