We headed to the jungle on small trucks, one of the trucks managed to have a flat tyre so we had to pull over to the side of a mud road and change our tyre. We got our life jackets on and travelled to our reserve, the boat journey was a good 5/6 hours with a spot of lunch cooked by our guides. We saw monkeys, snakes, piranhas, birds, sloths and other lovely creatures. In the evenings we went alligator hunting and were all successful and we also went fishing some catching Pirahnas, some poisonous fish, some managing to hook electric eels, some getting absolutely nothing, not to mention any names...Adam. The food was lovely crackers were demolished and egg and rice or fish and rice was also on the menu. The two nights sleep in the reserve were not as appreciated as the food, due to the cockroaches, mosi´s and HUGE spiders. All of the girls were screaming of course. Not everyones Deet was as good as others and most of the team awoke with bites all over them, some looking like they have chicken pox. The rain made an appearance and we all got soaked, the rain and muddy seats in the boats weren´t such an attractive look when all over our bums. We waited for a few hours for our boat from Lagunas to Yurimagus. We all got absolutely drenched as the heavens decided to open and we all got soaked along with all our bags, they smell vile now, damp clothes yummy. We were stationed for a good few hours due to the foggy weather and the cargo boat getting stuck in a sand bank, but as per usual we all pulled through. Got off the boat, waited for our transport (thats another story) and headed to Tarapoto. It´s 10:15am here in Peru, we´ve all eaten some jam and bread, teams are making lunch, researching, shopping for food and some shopping for wheelbarrows. We begin the project phase in the town of Solo today, so we´re getting all our bits and pieces ready. We will hopefully be doing white water rafting this week too. Well there´s so much to do so we best be off, but we´ll keep you all updated with our journey around Peru. Bye guys xxxxx
