well we arrived here at last after what seemed forever. The flight to Madrid was fine, except we were surrounded by spanish teenagers with rucksacks, leprechaun hats etc. They were quite well behaved considering.....Then overnight in Madrid and on the long flight yesterday.

Madrid airport is like a city in itself - huge

Queueing is unheard of in Spain.... so we had to battle our way onto transfer buses etc.

Lima really reminds me of Mexico, huge with mad traffic everywhere. People crowded into taxis and minbuses. So far people v. friendly, spanish sounds similar to that in Spain, not that i'd really know though!! We met our tour guide and some of our travel companions last night - all nice. One girl mentioned she got married once on my Birthday. Divorced twice, (American naturally - ok Canadian, same thing!!!!). When she finds out A is single he'll be plagued I'd say!!
Stomach feels ok, slept like a log and up local time at 5.30 am. We're off to the jungle today, really looking forward to it now, having recovered from the flight. S
