Arrived in Lima after a pretty rough bus from Punta Hermosa, which apparently is only really busy in the Peruvian summer....ahh damn! Anyway, we bagged a dorm room at one of the Flying Dog hostals which looks out onto Parque Kennedy in the centre of Miraflores in Lima. Really pretty area and loads going on in and around the park....

Crashed out pretty early the first night and spent yesterday having a casual wander, where we visited the remains of an Inca pyramid in the middle of the city. Miraflores is a really cool, happening area, and in the day its really cool to hang out and wander. But in the night Lima really seems to come to life, we only caught a glimpse after heading to a couple of bars last night, which were themselves full of characters and stories despite us only being in each for a beer or two!!

Today headed down to the sea, where there were plenty of people surfing and the waves looked pretty awesome despite it is mainly the beaches much further north of Lima that are renowned for surfing. So that was cool, and after a walk along the beach and promenade, we stopped for a plate of Cerviche in a sea view restaurant. Was really tasty and helped down by a Pisco Sour or two....which I had plenty of in Huacachina...

On the walk back to the hostal, came across a huge street parade which we followed all the way back to Miraflores...floats, dancers, Miss World contestants and the best fireworks display Ive ever seen made it a pretty cool last day here in Peru and South America...

And now onwards to California tonight where I will continue blogging....Bolivia and Peru have been amazing and I definitely will return to South America to explore more. It is impossible at this time to decide a favourite part of the trip so far but certainly I have many memories and experiences that will long live in the memory...

Now time for the states again...west side......

Right now I am working as a journalist in La Paz,Bolivia for the English publication Bolivian Express, a monthly magazine on Bolivia, its people and its places. This blog will provide an insight into what I get up to while I'm out here for anyone who would like to know!! I can't guarantee any sort of consistency but I will try ... full info
