Well, everyone, our land trip is winding down. We are pretty pooped, and a mite tired of living out of a backpack (or duffle in Robin´s case). We just reached Lima this morning after 15 hours on a first class bus. The seats relcined, we had dinner and breakfast served, and it came with a pillow and blanket. Lots of really unique pointed mountains in this area. Elevation was quite a bit lower here than in Cuzco, more towards the jungle ecology...called the High Jungle.

Machupicchu was divided into two distinct areas, one for the agriculture (terraced areas) the other for worship, work, storage and living areas.

Lots of extra hands for photos when in a guided group. It was well worth it. Our guide was great.

We were pretty glad we did the early morning trek up there, then could see how the fog lifted and became such a beautiful sunny day.

Had about a half dozen llamas wandering around the park for all us gushing tourists

Pretty interesting to know that this site is still in a discovery phase after such a long time.

They would let 200 in the morning, and another 200 mid-day to climb Wayapicchu. We spoke with some that did, and it was pretty awesome when you finally reach the top. Had to do some spider climbing near the top we heard. Robin and I just weren't up to it.
