Well shit, what to say...
First off we cant believe its over already, seems like we just got here...needless to say this place is absolutely fuckin amazing...every thing we did and everything we saw was completely different from the last...i think it was the absolute diversity of things that made the trip so amazing, diversity of beautiful landscapes, warm people, a totally different feeling in every country we traveled to...
There are however definate highlights that can not be forgotten...firsty, we loved bolivia...we spent a whole month there and went from living in the jungle in the Amazon River Basin, to travelling in a 4x4 for four days through the retardedly cold altiplano and saltfields, to the psycho crazy city of La Paz, to horse back riding where butch Cassidy and that other guy got killed...in addition to that, the buses were absolute shit and nothing ever was on time, but that was its appeal to us, in an odd sort of way you fall in love with it because the people are so absolutely hospitable...and it is mind blowingly cheap...
Peru...we started in Peru and at first were hesitant in accepting it, but after a while
travelling you fall into the swing of things and things that seemed harsh at first turn out to be the opposite...Peru was amazing...and obvisoulsy Machu Picchu was amazing, words can not describe that place, nor can photos, you definately feel something when you are there, when everywhere you look is the most amazing thing you have ever seen...also Haucachina and the sand dunes was cool...in addition to starting our trip in peru, we ended it there in a very perfect way...we went to Mancora, a small surf beach town about 2 hours from Equador...for 3 weeks, we did absolutely nothing but lay on the beach and swim in the ocean...on our second to last day a pod of about 50 bottle nosed dolphins swam right past us and we swam right up to them, literally 50 of the feeding not 5 feet from us, it was amazing...
Argentina, oh argentina...completly different then the other countries...it is very modern but it definately has its own feel...highlights were Iguazu Falls, huge ass steaks that melt in your mouth, beautiful Malbec red wine for 2 dollars a bottle, and Buenos Aires...we fell in love with the city's architecfture and shopping (For Teri)..
Brasil we only went to Florianopolis but it was amazing...Uruguay was cool, especialy Colonia, it felt like we were in Italy 400 years ago...and Chile we just drove through on our 72 hour foot swelling bus ride from hell...
It feels like we just left home yesterday, and could travel on for another 4 months.... but all good things must come to an end sometime. So now it's back home to see our family and friends, that we have so greatly missed, and on to dreaming and planning our next adventure!! Our pictures and words cannot even come close to what we've experienced but we hope from these blogs we bought you all along with us!!! Can't wait to see everyone, break out the booze and BBqs ( hope you don't mind but you have to provide everything cause we have absolutley no money)!!!
Peace and Love always...Shane & Teri!!!!!
