Street to Palace
Street to Palace, Central Lima Plaza De Armas is in central Lima. I tool the Metropolitano (Auto Bus) to Central Lima, about a 30 minute ride. The buses run between the interstate, it's actually faster than a car, no traffic for the bus. They are petrol run, great idea, why don't we do this. Check the pictures out. Plaza De Armas is the Presidential Palace govertment offices and the Palace of the Archbishop. The Museo Palacio Arzbispal de Lima was inaugurated in January 2010 as the Archbishop's Palace Museum which houses an impressive collection of Colonial Art. The Palace dates from XVI century and restored in 1924. In 2009 the entire Archbishop's Palace was restored and nowadays it displays art pieces from XVI to the XVIII century.
This Plaza is like stepping back in time, guards on duty at the Presidential Palace in uniforms of old. Central Lima is Manhattan, lot's of people, traffic, a sea of buildings. I didn't stay very long, I was concerned about getting back to Miraflores on the Metropolitano. Forget asking for help, vback without ery few speak English. I made lots of notes with street names and stops. I made it back with out a hitch, the Auto Bus
