OW OW OW OW OW!! The ride to the airport is painful, but nowhere near as hard as checking in. Goto this machine, spanish, go to the desk, luggage to heavy, repack, goto heavy luggage desk , pay surplus, no cash, goto cashpoint, go back to pay surplus, go back to check in, goto to starbucks, goto pay airport tax, go through customs, take water out of bags, goto gate, BREATHE!!!! The Patio Andulaz hotel in Quito is quaint and apparently has a lot of historical heritage (meaning some important military officials stayed here). Quito reminds me of the long steep roads in San Fransico, but the city is a little dirty and yes they all eat guinea pig here too, its just so wrong! Another wrong thing is Tmobile dont support Equador, and I feel like I've a lost a limb not being able to text frenzy every milisecond of the day. Our room is in the loft space and we dive for a hot shower and real SHAMPPOOOOOO!!! After a short walk around up and down the steep streets, we load up on supplies and head back to bed to camp out for the night in a
big bed, room service and SKY MOVIES HOOORRAYYYYY!!!! I get a delivery of roses from the best boyfriend in the world and I'm in heaven, and slowly the andes dust settles and the Lima fumes forgotten... Wills hairy legs have never felt better and I snuggle into the warmth ZZZzzzzz...

Our Quito guide collects us in his old banger, which incidentally is what he is also 😊 Will immediately throws in his disclaimer from having to chat to the guy, but it turns out he's actually really cool. First stop a local fruit vendor on the busy roads to sample some traditional quito fruit delights. Will is drooling as she breaks open the custard apples, OH MY GOD they are officially the nicest thing I've tasted even without the pie! We try a guava which looks like a 2ft long bendy bumpy skinny cucumber. When split open you eat this soft juicy almost fur like consistency which is wrapped around its giant seeds, AMAZING! We stock up and head to Otavalo after a bargain purchase of his n hers panama hats and some more amazing roses niiiiiice! Otavalo is filled with beautiful, green, grassy covered massive collections
of active volcanoes all set in a huge lake. After absorbing and making friends with cute stray dogs we do some shopping in some markets and somehow we end up being taken to a ladies actual home to try and sell me some of her 'own' clothes, as shes pulling them from her closet its all weird and 'WTF??' anyway nevermind shes 164yrs old and 20 stone?? Errr no thanks as we scramble for the front door. We make a stop in the 'Middle of the World' yes thats latitude 0 and we try our best to look like we understand the scientific research to back this up. We buy the book for Grandad to tell us, and get a pic under the sign, we're such tourists! After sampling some chocho beans which are meant to have more protein than steak, we head back after a great day. Dinner is at the top of the city looking down on the sparkling lights of the cathedrals in a greek style venue, its lovely. A wrong choice takes us to a rave, but Wills charms gain us free entry and a queue jump into a fab Regge meets salsa meets house club
and we drink and moonwalk the night away. Wills bum makes yet another suprise appearance on the dancefloor. Kisswill barometer 10/10

OUCH!!!!!! Why do I keep doing this to myself! Must pretend to be normal and not spaz out about the scarey cable car ride to the top of the city Volcanoe... its just a hangover... mind over matter... NOOOOOO flashbacks of raving in the taxi with the driver (our new best friend) wash over me. The perfect boyfriend brings me 270 maple syrup pancakes and tea in bed hoorraayyy maybe today wont be so bad afterall? WRONG! As we stand in line for the life threatening ride up the Volc, I irrationally plan my escape..I'm pregnant! no... I need a wee! no... I've lost the feeling in my legs!...NEXT PLEASE!!! SHIT!!!! I'm getting in the deathtrap and as I hold back the spaz tears I plan how Will must die as he purposely smiles at my fear as the cart lurches its way up the Volc. I open my eyes lash by lash and control the fear!!!! The view of the city is immense, its really packed out, and I manage to enjoy the views (but
wonder how I will get back down?) We walk a few hundred feet on foot to the mouth and take in the fresh air and fabulous sights, its especially cool to see the jumbo jets flying in lower than us! We're at 4400 feet but its warm and exhilarating, hangover cured!!! The descent in the cable car is cool, I'm a pro now and we seek out a quirky coffee shop (after realising we had been asking for a type of coffee rather than name of shop...Will!) The sky cracks, and a storm sets in and lihgts up the sky. Noe Sushi and an armed bodyguard is our venue, and a feast for kings (pigs) is eaten 😊
