Helo Again!
Well There is a lot for me to write in this entry but I will try and keep it short. The past weekend was our trip to Santiago for the big game. Unfortunately the guy who was supposed to have the tickets already didn´t have them and the game was sold out. We did make the best of our time there however. We went to Santa Lucia which is a large hill in Santiago filled with some amazing veiws of the city and spectacular architecture. Apparantly the architect is burried in a chapel at the top of the hill. That would be something. We also became a bit more familiarized with the city in general. We got back late sunday night and got right back into the swing of things. Classes however were cancelled today the 11th due to the intense demonstrations that have occured every year since the military quop in 1973. This subject is very interesting and I have met chileans all across the political spectrum. This day does show the great class division that still exists in Chile. One of my friends here invited me to a peacefull protest today, I am not sure if I

I didn´t count the stairs here mom, sorry.
am going or not. I have been told it could end in a few ways, most however probably involve the police.
Our trips to Lota have become a weekly ordeal now and we are practicing english with the students, and are working on presentations about the US, which they know very little about. We are also working on a travel brochure with local sponsors to increase awareness of the tourism lota has to offer. Hopefully this can be put up in buisness´throughout the 8th district. Tomorrow we are getting the tour of the coal mine in lota which goes 100m below sea level. I am a little scared for that but should be interesting.
Next week is all off for the 18th, indepence day here. We have planned a trip to visit some of the best sights in our general area. Saturday we leave for Las termas de chillan, where we will be for 3 nights. After that we head to a national park reserve where we may or may not camp for a night, depending on the weather. The next stop is Saltos de Laja, a waterfall which is supposed to be spectacular and lastly to our friends house

in Laja for a night or two.
I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the blog. Sorry if the posts are a bit long. Hope everyone is well, and remember you can post comments for everyone or send me messages.
Que te vayan bien!
