First stop in Chile, Valdivia, a pleasant little university city close to the pacific coast in the Lake District. We stayed in Hospedaje Felisa close to the bus depot, reasonable room, good breakfast. We were no more than 36 hours here but enjoyed every minute. It is an attractive place occupying a bend in the river with Sea Lions lazing around the port and a rather large submarine moored to one side. Good food to be had in the Volcano Restaurant, Pichanga for 2 and a pitcher of Kuntsmann beer which is brewed in Valdivia really hit the spot.
