Road Trip!Road Trip!Road Trip!

Setting off on the trip with the map of Santa Catarina
Oh dear, i'm already getting lazy with the old travel blog....been falling behind! So here's a quick update of what I've been up to the last couple of weeks...

After a relaxing few days with Debora and her family at their home in Curitiba, we left Curitiba for our road trip south to the beaches of Santa Catarina, starting off at the island of Florianopolis. Here, we arrived a the beautiful beachside pousada in Santo Antonio in the north of the island. It was perfect - beautiful little beach house 5 meters from the sea on a private beach - heaven! We spent the following few days chilling out, soaking up the rays on the beach at Jurere and enjoying the impressive views - beautiful people everywhere!!It was without a doubt the best beach I've ever been too - El Divino with mattresses and sun loungers, fresh fruit juices and coconut milk on tap, house music pumping out across the beach and beautiful people and stunning scenery as far as the eye could see!Needless to say I got badly burnt on the first day - quite obviously the only Brit amongst all the beautifully bronzed Brasilians - and my ass was so

sore it hurt to sit down for the next 4 days!

After 3 days at the pousada, we stayed at Debora's aunt's beach house for a night, and spent the day with her cousins and sister at Praia Molje (the surfers beach) in the south of the island - huge waves! We then spent the next day at Praia Brava - yet another beautiful beach, where we were caught in a rainstorm and seen a beautiful rainbow breaking over the ocean - stunning!Next, we travelled up the coast to Debora' apartment in Picarres, next to Camboriu, another famous beach resort, for a final few days on the beach. Here, we attempted to go out to Warung - the coolest club in the South of Brazil -however it was closed! So we contented ourselves with an evening of mojitos and caiprinhas at the eqully stunning beachside club Kiwi. A day at Praia Brava - miles of stunning surf - brought our beach trip to an end, and we headed back up the coast to Curitiba. Here I spent a few days organising the next leg of my trip - Punta del Este in Uruguay, then up to Salvador in the north of Brazil

- before enjoying a last meal with Debora and her family at a traditional Brazilian churruscaria (all you can eat bbq place) where i embarrassed everyone by taking lots of photos! My first taste of Brazil was great - an amazingly beautiful country, with stunning scenery, beaches and people - and I cant wait to go back for more!

Awesome pics and experience! Actually, the Kiwi Beach Club, Praia Brava and Warung are in Itajaí, but many people think they're in Camboriú... :) Congrats!
