South America Cruise #7~

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: On this day, Larry and I spent the day with some of our friends / coworkers on the ship - Nicole, Danny and Kristin. We decided to go up to Christ the Redeemer again, because the first time we went, the weather got bad shortly after we arrived at the top! So, since we wanted some more photos and it was our last time in Rio... this is how we spent our day. Unfortunately it got a little cloudy, but at least it wasn't raining! Afterwards we went to the beach for some lunch and photo fun! 😊

Buenos Aires, Argentina - Day 1: This day was quite eventful! We spent the day exploring around Buenos Aires with our good friend Nicole and had a great time...although I'd have to say the highlight of the day was when Larry almost got mugged by one of the locals! Luckily, Larry caught this guy's hand in his pocket though and got all of his money back!!

Later that evening, we went to the private home of a chef, called Casa Saltshaker, where we had a delicious meal! What a great 'last night' in Buenos Aires!!

Buenos Aires, Argentina - Day 2: Ah, another great day - a SHOPPING DAY! This day Larry had to work, and so Nicole and I went shopping in the trendy Palermo Soho area of Buenos Aires. We didn't buy anything at Lovers and Fuckers though! 😱

Montevideo, Uruguay: Today we were lucky enough to catch a real gaucho parade down the streets of Montevideo. We also had a lunch with a bunch of friends and coworkers from our ship - a traditional barbeque lunch - and then did a little local shopping. Larry and I got some souvenirs for our wedding (table favors) here, as well as some artwork for our future house...

Engine Room Tour: This was a really interesting tour that we had the opportunity to go on while on the ship. We learned a lot about how the ship runs and where the engineers work.

Stanley, Falkland Islands: A bit sad as this was our last cruise in all of these ports.... We spent the day eating some delicious British fish n' chips (the Falkland Islands are UK-owned!) and walking along the beach collecting sea glass.

Ushuaia, Argentina: Nothing too eventful today...just spent the day with Gillian & Nicole....having lunch and taking advantage of the free wifi!

Puerto Montt, Chile: This day was quite fun! Larry, Nicole and I found a really great (and CHEAP) local pottery shop where we bought some pottery to take home! We then ran into Drew and so we all went out to lunch before having to board the ship again...

That's our cruise #7 breakdown...hope you enjoy!

Love,
Larry & Melanie
