Saludos a todos! I hope all is well where ever you guys are at. The travels have been going well. Still in Brazil. After Sao Luis, we decided to visit some national parks and do some sightseeing and swimming. We had enough of big cities....for now at least. Below is a summary of the towns we visited.

Sao Luis: So, Homer and I are sitting at a local bar/restaurant. We're outside on the sidewalk where tables are set up. Drinking some brews....checking out the scene and people watching. A waiter comes up and hands Homer a note. The note was in Portuguese, but it basically said, "Hey, everything good?", signed with the initials J.R. Homer started glowing. He was speechless. Someone told the waiter to hand Homer the note. There was people all around us. We weren't sure who was interested. We nonchalantly started looking around to see which girl was looking at our direction.

Me: "Dude, I don't notice any girls looking at our direction."
Homer: "Neither do I, but I did notice that guy over there mad dogging me."
Me: "Oh yeah (looking). Uhmmm.....I don't think he's mad dogging you bro."
Homer: "Maybe I should go tell

him shit."
Me: "I'm looking around and don't see anyone looking at our direction, but that guy."
Homer: "He looks Mexican. Do I know him? What the fuck is he looking at?!"
Me: "Uhhh....dude. I think he sent you the note."
Homer: "What??? No way!"
Me: "Look around. Do you see anyone else looking at our direction?"
Homer (scanning the area): "No. I guess not."
Me: "Dude, he's checking you out. He's interested (chuckling of course)."
Homer: "Fuck no. No way."
Me: "He thinks you're gay (me laughing at this point)!"
Homer: "Let's take off."

So, we decided to leave and walk around downtown where there were street parties going on. After a few more beers, we decided to call it a night. Sao Luis wasn't really all that fun. As we started making our way to the hotel, Homer noticed some guys a block behind us.

Homer: "Dude, I think that guy and his friends are behind us."
Me: "What?! Holy shit! No way (laughing)! He wants you man (laughing some more)!"
Homer's Crush: "Oi! Oi!" (yelling Hi in Portugese).
Homer: "Look back to see if that's him."
Me (laughing): "Fuck that....just keep walking bro."

back): "Shit dude (laughing too)!! That's him! He's saying hi."
Homer's Crush: "Oi! Oi! Lovvverrr!" (Homer disagrees, but I swear I heard the guy say "lover". Me still laughing.)

We hurried into our hotel without looking back. Homer was crushed. Better luck next time my friend (ha ha ha).

Piripiri: We visited a national park outside this town called "Cete Cidades", meaning Seven Cities. The park was nice. It was full of strange rock formations. There was also rock paintings that are estimated to be 3,000 years old.

Sao Jorge: Small town full of hippies and bohemians. It was a cool place. Very chill. We came to this town in order to visit the local national park. This place kicked ass!! Our guide Rafael was an awesome dude. Well educated and extremely knowledgeable. Swam in a river and by some waterfalls, drank natural spring water from the valley, visited a few more waterfalls, and did a little cliff jumping.

Travelers if you are visiting Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park by Sao Jorge, listed below is Raphael's info. He speaks both English and Portuguese.

Bonito: Another small town full of natural springs and waterfalls. Although this town did seem to be a little more touristy (catering to Brazilians), it still had beautiful springs and waterfalls to swim at. Met some really cool Brazilians here. Had a good time.

Take care!
