Not a country you often read about but I wonder why? Despite being one of the poorest countries in the world, it is one of the most varied and amazing places I've been. La Paz sits in a bowl surrounded by mountains and varies in altitude between 3300m and 4082m depending on where you are. At this height, the air is quite thin and there's no chance I'll be doing anything fast. You're left puffed out just walking up the short incline to our hotel.

Don't have time to write much about it at the moment, but will add a few photos to keep you posted.

Such a dodgy area that we had to have four guards keeping watch of our truck while we joined the queue at passport control!

Weird rock formations caused by erosion. I've always wanted to go to the moon but I think this is probably the closest thing I'll get.

Salt lake on the high plateau. It is more than 11,000 ft (3,353 m) above sea level and is Bolivia's second largest lake. Dread to think how they got the name!

Hey wee Jane, Looks like you are having a blast as usual! Love your photos - especially the salt lake one; the framing is beautiful.
