Santa Cruz: Butterflies and Birds - Mariposas y Aves

I went to the local biocentre that included a butterfly dome (see first photo) and an aviary. On entering the ground level of the aviary there was a large bird there about the size of a chicken (imagine if you will a supermarket free range chicken prior to the removal of his appendages/feathers, and not carrying his giblets in a plastic bag) that seemed to accompany me on the initial phase of my bird-orientated perambulations. Just as I was about to leave the aviary the aforementioned avian, or one of his fellows (I can not rule out there being a whole flock of such near-identical sentinels) came pounding down the path towards me and then hopped on a nearby handrail. I was then given a severe glowering at (see second photo) and was at a temporary loss as to what to do as there were no nearby intermediaries to affect the necessary introductions. Soothing words in Spanish and English seemed to break the ice, if such a metaphor is apposite in the tropics, and I left, promising to email if he could gain access to such a facility.

Al entrar en el nivel del suelo del aviaro había un ave de gran tamaño que el tamaño de un pollo (imagino que si usted un pollo supermercado aire libre antes de la remoción de sus apéndices/plumas, y no llevar a sus vísceras en una bolsa de plástico) que parecía que me acompañen en la fase inicial de mi pájaro orientado a deambular. Justo cuando estaba a punto de salir de la pajarera, el aviar anterior, o uno de sus compañeros (que no se puede descartar la existencia de una multitud entera de esos casi idénticos centinelas) llegaron golpeando el camino hacia mí y luego se subió a una barandilla cercana. Me dieron entonces un severo ceño fruncido al (ver segunda foto) y estaba en una pérdida temporal en cuanto a lo de hacer lo que no hay intermediarios cercanos a afectar a las presentaciones de rigor. Palabras tranquilizadoras en Español e Inglés pareció romper el hielo, si es que la metáfora es pertinente en los trópicos, y me fui con la promesa de correo electrónico si podía tener acceso a este tipo de instalaciones.]
