Salar de Uyuni
A weird scenery, just salt, like snow but than standing there in your shorts!! My Trip in Bolivia began with a great 22 hour train journey through the flat east. A great way to see some of the country life since the trains are not that fast as in Europe. First stop was Santa Cruz where we changed on a bus.......I didn't know that trains where so comfortable. We got out at Villa Tunari 4 hours after the estimated arrival time, found a place to dump our bags. went to the worst bar in the world..but the had beer, and realy bad karaoke!!
Next day visited the animal rehabilitation centre before we took of to Cochabamba. For 3 bolivianos (30 euro cents) we got the cable car up to heaven...thats were we found the Jesus statue and for a while I thought I was in Rio de Janeiro!!
In sucre we found the place to be, the joy ride cafe...dutch owner, dutch snack (bitterballen)...and the result was foodpoisoning, 2 days with fever and a bad stomach in bed, not the nicest when your on the road.
The road continued to Potosi, were we visited a mine...bought some dinamite for the miners and saw a demonstrationblast!!!
Bolivia is great but the best was still to
come, we booked a trip to Salar de Uyuni, some big saltflats, great lagunas, geisers and hotsprings...
With a bunch of other backpackers our bolivian driver, guide and cook (yeah one person) lead us throught one of the most amazing scenery I ever seen in my live.....
