Some pics of our last day in Ushuaia. It was picture perfect- Alejandro said they only get about 5 a summer like that. We went out on the sailboat "If" to Island H in the Beagle Channel, the last island in Argentina (there are still some islands that belong to Chile before Cape Horn) Island H is a kind of refuge with a lot of tundra plants even though it is close to sea level.

Hi! I'm off to Argentina with my brother Donald in....eeeek...a week and a half! This will be my third time visiting Argentina, but the last time was thirty years ago (I actually spent the bicentennial 7/4/76 crossing the border from Brasil to Argentina). Also last time there was this little problem going on that is now referred to as "la guerra sucia." Many of the young people I had met 2 years earlier had disappeared and were never heard of again. It will be nice to visit this beautiful country in a more peaceful climate. So, if you already know me I hope you enjoy this diary of my travel... full info
