Rano sme mali celkom problem kupit jedlo a vodu, vsetko bolo pozatvarane, vlada sa rozhodla dopriat ludom karneval a vyhlasila tri dni volna. Neskor sme sa vybrali na navstevu narodneho parku Tierra del Fuego /Ohnova zem/ a ako dopravny prostriedok sme pouzili taxik - nechodili tam ziadne autobusy a museli by sme slapat asi 15 km cez, ako nas varovali na turistickych informacia, stvrt so zlymi psami. Najprv sme kracali cez hlavne bukovy les, plny povalanych stromov a pasucich sa koni. Postupne sme zacali stupat vyssie a vyssie a videli coraz viac stitov a ladovcov. Nasou prvou zastavkou bola Laguna Caminante a potom nas cakal najtazssi usek - prechod cez Paso de la Oveja - oveckine sedlo. Cele okolie bolo pokryte kamenmi roznych tvarov a farieb /asi hlavne skridlica/, vyzeralo to zvlastne, ako v inom svete.
In the morning we had quite a problem to buy some food and water, everything was closed, goverment decided to give people carneval and announced three days hol. Later we went to visit national park Tierra del Fuego /Land of fire/ and to get there we took a taxi - there were no buses going there and we would have to walk 15 km through, as a lady in tourist information warned us, an area with nasty dogs. Firstly we walked through mainly a beech forest, full of fallen trees and freely roaming horses. Later as we started to get higher we could see more mountains and glaciares. Our first stop was Laguna Caminante and later we had to reach the hardest bit of todays walking - Paso de la Oveja - the pass of the sheep. All around us it was covered with stones of different shapes and colours, it looked very strange, like another world. Later a very
strong wind started and often we had to stop and use our trekking sticks to keep our balance - one of a very few days I was happy for having a heavy rucksack. Later it started getting dark and we were still walking on a rocks, above a forest. By the time we got into it it was after 8 and we immediately started to look for a place to camp. Every place with a bit without fallen trees was a wet one. Later Stan found a place - dry and surrouded by trees that didnt look like falling that night and that was pretty much all what was good about it - otherwise full of holes and roots.
