Hola
I´m glad Januarys over, those dark, dreary nights! Only Kidding! Have had the best January, sorry to see it go....
Again, we have been inspired by the spectacular feats of nature. Perito Moreno Glacier, the biggest glacier I have ever seen. And we have had loads of fun too.
Things we have done in El Calafate
1. Seen the Glacier
We saw it from loads of different directions.
The best being on a boat where we got so close. Huge chunks of ice kept breaking off too - lucky for us.. we were able to enjoy a stiff drink over glacial ice!
2. Went trekking up Cerro Frio
1000 metres high, with stunning views of the lake.
Was a great trek with 2 girls from San Fran, who were very fast! Taught us loads about travelling with style, the best places to eat, where to get good clothes and a decent hair cut!
3.Went cycling around Lago Argentina
The biggest lake solely on Arg, the glacier feeds into it, so is the most brilliant tourquise colour. Never seen a lake so big and tourquise before.Stunning
4. Went flamingo watching
They are THE most beautiful
birds ever. So pink and interesting. When they open their wings they are even more beautiful! We found them on a bay at the edge of Lago Argentina
5. Got evicted from a hostel
Not as drastic as it sounds, it was fully booked so we had to find somewhere new to stay, but I lost my PJs and a jumper in the process: (
6. Eaten at swanky restuarant with the girls from San Fran.
A big treat, cost more than 2 nights accom for the both of us!! Change from rice and tuna!
7. Booked a flight to Ushauia
Rather than the bus..... another big treat!!
When we arrive in Ushauia, the most southern city in the world.... we are on a very important mission.. Will tell you more soon....
Love you all
Hayley
