It´s only a baby by Glacier standards
The 60m face of the Perito Moreno glacier So, sorry for the delay but we´ve been a little busy.
We went for our walk on the Perito Moreno Glacier in crampons....BRILLIANT!
We were a small group and for most of the time we couldn´t hear another soul, just sound of the crampons cutting into the ice and the odd "BANG" as another cravase formed nearby or another building sized hunk of ice fell into the water.
The Moreno is a "fast moving" glacier and according to the guide the landscape changes on a weekly basis. We all made it off the ice with our ankles intact, and even managed to stop for a small scotch on the 200yr old rocks.
From there it was back to El calafate for anything on the menu as long as it was cold (the gas was out across town).
A mid afternoon flight the next day meant a lazy day and some presents, before our trip to the "END OF THE EARTH".
