Whew...I am so far behind I don´t know if I´ll ever catch up, but I´ll try in the next few days. In reality, it is the 19th of Feb, and I´m in Tucuman, writing a little after a post birthday asado nap, and before going out for a little walk and coffee.

These are pictures of Lago Argentino which you can see from El Calafate, a day trip we made to the Upsala glaciar and Estancia Christina, some pictures from some hills outside town called Cerro Frias, and the town of El Calafate itself. Again, just too beautiful for words.

The Upsala and Estancia Christina photos are all from one long day trip we took the day after we went to Perrito Moreno glaciar. We got up early, were taken by mini bus to a large Catamaran where we had about an hour and a half trip out to the Upsala glaciar. We saw it by boat, then were dropped off to go the rest of the way by 4x4 trucks and on foot (people had the option of horseback). It was an amazing ride and view. Afterwards we were taken back to Estancia Christinia which was one of the old Patagonian sheep ranches settled by an Englishman. It´s now being converted into a very upscale ecotourism site with a fabulous restaurant.

The Cerro Frias trip was a short jaunt we took the morning of our flight. This time by 4x4 Land Rover with some amazing views. Unfortunately the guanacos were elsewhere.

And, yes, it really is very windy in Patagonia!
