No particular reason for the title, just was thinking about the Fresh Prince and that is one of my most favoritest lines that he said ;-)
So what the heck has been going on, you ask? First thing is that I switched from group classes to private classes. Cuz all the kids were mean and made fun of me!! No, I did six weeks of group and I found myself getting bored and uninterested if I got things and other people didn't. In a regular classroom that's fine, but when I have a time budget and I'm paying good money I'd like a good result. So I'm trying three weeks of private classes, with my new instructor Lelah. She is sweet and she gets me to talk a lot, which is what I need. Even if I'm a little slow, with repetition I am sure to improve. We will complete two+ levels in three weeks as opposed to 1.5. And gosh darn it, my classes are in the mornings, which is what I always wanted to try. But I have been feeling sick since Saturday and me, sick, in the morning is not the optimal combination. I was over an
Threesome
Every man's fantasy, being fought over by two scantily clad women. hour late for school today (I did give warning!). Is refreshing, though, to be finished at one rather than six. I can get more city-watching out of the way and take more pictures, which I haven't been doing.
After the three weeks, I am going to spend two weeks in Bariloche. It's an area in the lower middle-west of Argentina. Everyone I have talked to has recommended that I go, including instructors, Patricia, people I've met. It's more of the countryside location, so there is hiking, rafting, horsies, and ice-skating, etc. My school recently opened up a school there, so it is in the contract that I can change locations with no fee and they will find me a place to stay. I just have to pay the transport, which is 110pesos RT (yeah, and a whole DAY in the bus this time!). I have also heard that a plane costs only about 100dollars, so I might look into that too, since it's for just a short period of time. If I was staying two months I might do the journey, but for two weeks that'd be tough. Anyhoo, I'm excited, but with the weather changing to the colder
side like it has, I'm worried I might be freezing in the countryside. However, being the skilled packer that I am (I've had lots of practice, believe you me), I did prepare and I brought jackets and sweaters. I'm really stoked.
Last Thursday night we went to see a tango show at the renowned Cafe Tortoni, founded in 1858. It was fantastic, and I took loads of video and some pictures. There was actually more singing than dancing, but the whole spectacle was wonderful. They set it up kind of like one of those mystery theaters, where there is a small story and some acting. The dancing was Espectacular! We sat at a table right in front, and there were about 50 people from our school there so we took up one half of the room. The four of us at the table ordered a bottle of wine and lots of cheese and bread and it only came to 10pesos each, plus the 25p for the show. It was well worth it.
The rain has been toying with us, it's really brought the hot temperature into check. I'm in jeans and a sweater right now. It's a good

A few things that I wanted to remark about - the food markets and ice cream (no relation).
I am someone who knows what she likes when I'm shopping for fruits and veggies. I can pretty much tell by how it looks if I'm gonna want to eat it. Here, there are loads of corner grocery stores where you can pick up whatever you need. Except that all of them have someone manning the fruits and vegatable section and the people aren't supposed to touch the produce. We tell the person what we want and he picks. Even if I'm standing directly over the bananas I want and the guy is behind a counter, he walks from out behind to grab me some bananas. I've gotten used to it for the most part, but there are some items, like tomatoes and peaches, and sometimes avocadoes, that I usually don't get lucky with. Lately I've been walking to the big grocery stores where

Who's that little boy with us? Wait, that's the cute dancer. I choose my items. No biggey, just a little different.
Ice cream is an obsession to Argentina. There is a "heladeria" on every block (along with a farmacia). At any given time I go in, in the cold or heat, there is a crowd of people eating their ice creams. And they serve you ALOT! You usually choose two flavors, no matter the size, and the most popular of course is dulce de leche. There is one shop, Freddo, that serves the best ice cream. Chunky banana split, or dulce de leche con brownies, or mascarpone with raspberries. I'm living a PMS-ing woman's dream :-) Hmmm, maybe ice cream instead of lunch...
