Greetings all

Since we last spoke a lot of things have occured mainly the start of our GAP tour. Meaning that we are leaving Buenos Aires and starting on our way to RIO.

We met the people on our gap tour and they are a really cool bunch and are really easy to get along with.
The first day of our GAP adventure was a quick tour of Buenos Aires with us visiting all the main sites like Evitas grave and the suburb of La Boca. la Boca is quite a poor area however the people that live there have constructed all the buildings out of different coloured materials, giving it really different vibe. It was an awesome place and definately worth the one peso bus fare however as it is quite a poor suburb its worth keeping your camera close to you (in your bag) for most of the visit. The tour also included us wandering past all the main buildings such as the parliament and congress and it is suffice to say that they were very impressive.

The police in south america are also quite different to the ones back in Oz. It seems to be standard dress for the police to all be wearing bullet proof vests. It is also not uncommon to see various army types wandering about with various types of machine gun which is just a little disconcerting.

We leave buenos tommorrow to go to Montivideo in Uruguay which will be interesting no doubt and we will be sure to keep you posted

All the best Peter and Triona
