Looks like pictures are going to have to wait again.

Well I decided to stay one more day in Buenos Aires, the city is huge and there is lots to see. I've certainly broken in the new running shoes, probably around 15 miles yesterday alone. Yesterday I did the northern half of this city, started out going to Plaza de Mayo, this is where the famous balcony where Eva Peron stood (also the movie Evita with Madonna). next stop was the mall, shops are all pretty much the same, but the building was cool. Then i went to the Cementerio de la Recoleta, old cemetary where alot of the rich/famous/powerful are buried. Its like a small city with old and new ornate crypts. Also where Eva Peron is buried, to find her crypt just follow the crowds. After a quick beer to cool off at a sidewalk cafe it was onwards through the city, goign from park to plaza until I reached the botanical gardens. CanĀ“t say the gardens were that great but the place is full of ferral cats, lounging in the sun, on park benches and just walking around. They were all very friendly to, come right up

and sit with you. I made a friend who followed me around for most of my walk. Finally made it to the furthest neighborhood i was planning on visiting, Palermo. lots of shops and cafes, wasnt really worth the long walk there and back though, alot like the other neighborhhods, then it was back to the Hostel for a BBQ on the roof. Afterwards went out to a club with a bunch of the people i met at the BBQ. the club was huge, the dance floor was longer then a football field and about as wide, full of people. And this was the "afterwork" bar we were told because it opens and closes early, 9pm to about 2am, some of the clubs dont even open until 2am. Regardless the whole group ended up getting seperated, by the end of the night i did find one of the guys from our group and we got a cab back.

This mornings start was a little rough from the long night, but since i had decided to stay one more night i had to pack up my stuff and change rooms, quick nap, then back out to see the south side

of town. went to a few museums on the way and got to the shady area of buenos aires, La Boca, but the is where the soccer stadium is for one of their teams and i wanted to see it, plus there are some colorfully decorated houses and shops. Now im getting ready to leave sometime tomorrow, probably take a night bus to Mendoza, the wine region at the foothills of the Andes, thinking about spending at least 3 nights there exploring.

Final thoughts, Buenos Aires is a fantastic city, i would love to return sometime and do the millions of things i havent done, but i think this time i am more interested in patagonia and the moiuntains then the city.
