Plaza Espania in Mendoza, one of many
For the last night in Buenos Aires everyone was taking it easy, so we went up to the roof for a few beers. Well the party of 5 on the roof turned into about 13, and sooner or later it was 4am and you couldnt count the number of empty beers on the tables, so we went off to get some food and then back to the hostel by 5, at this point i decided it was bedtime, but a few of the guys went back to the roof and drank until sun up. Spent most of Friday just relaxing and waiting for my bus, wandered the city for a few hours once everyone from the night before startet feeling better. Then it was off to my bus for a 14 hour ride.

Bus wasnt that bad, the bus station in Buesno Aires though was crazy, there were over a hundred terminals, and i was told to be between 25 and 36, nothing more. So i wandered between as buses pulled in and out constantly, then with only about 5 minutes until i was suppsed to depart and bus pulled in with Mendoza written on it. Phew, timelyness is not

big in South America. the ride wasnt that bad, about 3 guors in we pulled into a rest area, everyone got out so i followed since i had no idea what the driver had said, then we all sat down inside and a great steak meal was brought out for everyone. ate up the back on the bus. These busses are really nice, double decker, recline almost flat, kinda like first class on an airline. Finally fell asleep around midnight then woke up in Mendoza.

Mendoza is like Napa at the foorhills of the Andes, this is where most of the wine comes from. But i made a few mistakes when i got here. First of all the hostels were mostly boooked, i did get one though, except im the only one who speaks english, oh well. then i decided to do my usuall walking tour of the city, not thinking tomorrow wouold be sunday and everything would be closed. So here i am today with nothing to do, hence the reason i finally found internet that would let me upload pictures. Like Bueanos Aires the city has wide tree lined streets with cafes everywhere. It also has a

Gotta watch your step in medoza, every sidealk has an irrigation channel
huge city park, I guess the largest in the world acorrding to one hotel guest? so i walked most of that up to a little peak over the entire city and valley.

So it looks like today i will mostly be relaxing, which I guess this is vacation. Tried to go buy an english/spanish dictoinary earlier, but the store had the longest lines ever. This store is kinda like Fred Meyer (or Meijer for the MI folks) About the same size, and the lines went from the registers at the front of the store, down the isles acosss the ceter of the store and then another 20 feet, and there were about 8 open registers. Crazy, guess today is the shopping day. Okay, ill catch you all up ina few days after i tour some wineries, and then take a 20 trip south.
