Busiest street in Buenos Aires Hi again,
Here comes an update from the days in Buenos Aires 😊
We have had such luck in staying at the Bed and Breakfast "Rick´s Place" (named from the bar in the movie Casablanca...) owned by John, from the UK, who moved here 4 years ago. It is a lovely place with very homely feeling and I met one couple taking spanish lessons one morning, another couple taking tango lessons in the living room another day. We got invited this Sunday to a BBQ at the Delta by John (he owns a house out there, and another friend own land in the area that they are developing). Yet again meeting interesting people (amongst them was his friend who was the architect of his house built in the Delta, as well as an actor who has starred some 16 years in the US soap ¨As the world turns¨... too bad I have never seen it...)
Well, we also went to a Polo game as this is Michelles latest hobby 😊 We missed the final as the rain last weekend made them postpone it to next weekend, but we did catch the semi-final !
Otherwise we have tried
Casa Rosada
Hmmm, I thought it would be bigger ? to see as many ´barrios´of the city as possible. So far my favourite is Palermo where the tree lined streets are filled with restaurants and bars.
Now I have arrived in El Calafate where the group for the hike meets at 7 this evening (I have to stroll around town until then I guess if I manage to stay awake - got up 5.30 this morning) and Julie comes in on another flight around 5. It is very beautiful here, and am curious what the next weeks will bring !
Take care in the cold....
Hugs
Marie
