Boca fans!Boca fans!Boca fans!

The picture just doesn´t do it justice... don´t worry I have a video!
Another week has flown by and classes are in full swing. I switched out of one and into another that seems to have less homework and is slower paced (which I desperatly needed!). My spanish class is progressing well and I feel like I have learned a lot more the past week.

As for the weekend... on Friday we went and saw Cabaret. What an AMAZING show. The acting was great, I understood most everything despite the language barrier. It was just amazing thats all I can say. The theatre was beautiful and the singing was too. Just whoa... thats all I can say. Saturday night we decided to hunt down Mexican food (I miss it sooooo much... its definatly something I took for granted...). After a subway ride and a long walk we found Xalapa and all its glory. Frozen margaritas and enchiladas all around! We were some happy campers. There wasn´t salsa in the typical sense but whatever it was they gave us to dip chips in was GREAT! The enchiladas were also amazing (although all the cheese made me a little sick the next day). It was really funny to see things like guacamole described in great

detail on the menu. Things that every Texan (and most other north americans) know are very foreign to these Argentines.

Sunday... oh was a day. I woke up to the freezing cold rain. But futbol was planned and I knew that the game would never be cancelled on account of rain. After a wonderful lunch we all headed to Boca to see the Boca Juniors take on Gimnasio. It was SO SO SO much fun. Despite my feet being numb from the cold and rain it was amzing to see such devoted fans. They cheered, sang, and chanted the entire game. When an opposing player was red-carded they had to have a mini SWAT team escort him to the penalty box. Men in full on protective gear complete with sheildsto protect the player from the fans who attempted to climb the barb wire lined fence to spit or throw things at the guy. Some of these fans being deranged 5 year olds! It was definatly a fun experience and I hope to go back to another game soon.

My host mother came back from vistiting her family in NYC today. The things she brought back for the family

were: Bisquik, hershey bars (about 5lbs), hershey kisses, M&Ms, Aunt Jemima syrup, and Chips Ahoy. They were mad she didn´t return with marshmallows... poor things just couldnt get enough sugar I guess. She also brought back clothes and shoes for all the kids but especially Juaquin... baby clothes just arent good quality here same with toys. A girl I´m friends with here is going home this weekend for her grandma´s 90th bday and is bringing us back such delicacies as peanut butter and Pepto.

I´m about to start a 400 word spanish essay... this could be awhile...
