York Cathedral

When we got to York we parked in a big public parking lot where we met our local tour guide. As she led us toward the old city walls we ran into a large contingent of senior citizens who had apparently just left some sort of ceremony. Most of the old men had rows and rows of ribbons and medals proudly displayed on their chests. I assume they were WWII vets. It's nice to see that they are still being honored for saving Europe and maybe even the World in the darkest days of the War. I'm not sure how Gail got this photo and I didn't. Anyhow, it's a great picture.
Day 11 (Across the border)

It was even hotter in my room last night but with us being on a side street at least things were quiet enough to leave my windows open. I put my bulging suitcase and my bags of souvenirs in front of the window just in case somebody decided to come visit me by climbing up the scaffolding and through my giant window.
