Isla de los Pescadores

Cactus filled island in the middle of the salt flats. Also known as the house of the inca because it was halfway between one side of the flats and the other and played an important stopover when crossing these inhospitable lands.

Crossing the broder from Argentina to Bolivia is unlike anything I have ever encountered before. The contrast between the two countries is stark and the immdiate change in atmosphere is incredible.
