Bastille Day in NYC July 16th 2012 The day after Bastille Day for us started off lazily since we decided to have a quiet restful morning. But come midday we were ready to head down to 60th to celebrate what was billed as "Bastille Day on 60th St" - why it was celebrated a day late I'm not sure although maybe it was easier traffic wise as from Fifth to Lexington Avenues were closed off. We started travelblogging in 2008 when, with the parenting responsibilities of six children long-gone, we (Michelle & Kevin) left home for a three months adventure during which time we spent some of the kids inheritance! Having always loved traveling, prior to our three months away six weeks has been the longest period we've been overseas and that was mostly with kids in tow.
