Enjoyed your blog - From: Cambodia needs you!!
Hi Michelle and Kev I really enjoyed your well written blog and the photos. What an awful pity about the lack of tourists...on an area thats survival depends upon it so much. Your comments about the traffic system....ie no apparent rules! Albeit an implicit understanding...especially in Vietnam, remind me of a traffic trial in a town in the UK where there have switched off several sets of traffic lights at some crossroads......! This followed a period of improved traffic flow when the lights had broken down recently. Hence, they realised they were better off without them! What a great idea. However, "health and safety" rules and regulations will stop this from spreading....it is killing our society. Even the head of a major safety organisation has said it's gone too far! Anyway, enjoy your dangerous, but fantastic trip. Best wishes James

Hi, Saw your next point of call is Copenhagen, probably my favourite people and city; make sure you visit Tivoli Gardens. Danes are very like Australians; they are quite mad, love the outdoors, sailing, BBQ's etc and their skill in textiles, metal and timber has to be seen so check out Den Permante and the Hans Hansen and Georg Jensen shops and museum on the 'walking street'; but curb your wallet if you can! The little green monster is alive & well! Noella

What a great travelblog! I have really enjoyed reading this and looking at the photos. I have been to the same places and witnessed the same contrast between now (Beauty, calm and tranquil) compared to then (Danger, noise, dirt and death). The graveyards are spectacular! It really surprised me ...how well kept they are. They attempt to have colour from plants/flowers all year round. I'm glad you got there....the Australians played an important part and are well remembered. KIT xxx

You seemed to have quite liked Terminal 5 at Heathrow (or T5 as the media annoyingly calls it), which is more than can be said for Naomi Campbell!

Michelle - I don't know how you manage to keep this travel blog going. I can't keep up with reading it everyday - I'm about a week behind although I'm reading your latest there's heaps waiting unopened. Definitely a few gold stars for you. I didn't realise that you were going on such a massive trip. Isn't your head just spinning with all the historical information and isn't your waistline expanding with all those meals out! I'm just jealous of course. Maybe when my kids grow up, I'll be able to do the same. Best wishes for the rest of your journey. Sandra. P.S. It's freezing in Sydney today/tonight.

hi travellers - From: Sat 17 May - In transit once more
great to hear that you are having such an interesting trip, i have been to many parts of canada, and must say its one of my favourite parts of the world I particularly loved travelling through the rockies ,especially seeing though lovely lakes etc I have just spent 10 days in Bali with friends who have a time share there. Its at least 10 years since I went with Dave ,and wondered after the bombing what it would be like from the tourist point of view. We went to Nusa Dua end which is about an hour from Kuta where the bombing was the first time, it appears that there is a growing confidence there, and developers are starting to build hotels and resorts again. which is great to see, the local people are really gentle smiling and friendly, they need a break as life is hard for a lot of them, with unemployment low wages, and competition for jobs. the weather was great, the sea warm, ,it was a most enjoyable blob out holiday, with good friends. weather here is a little wet, but not too cold, we have had the best summer for many years,/ well friends of to make a cake for my dad before i visit him. take care have fun, be safe love Ann

Sylvia Plath - From: Thursday 15 May - Portland Oregon

Hi Guys Great to see that everything's well in the great country of the US of A. Life is good on this side of the Water..... 14 Alderson is slowly starting to take the shape and smell of the Hansens... haha Kat has placed smelly candles everywhere and each room is an experience into the six senses... everything from mandarin smells to figs and cashew nuts or something like that...haha (don't worry, I don't understand it either) Anyways.... have a continued great trip!!!
