9 Playa del Carmen
January 23rd 2012 After leaving the group I transfer down the coast to Playa del Carmen, a low-rise resort of stylish hotels and restaurants mixed in with simpler local places. My hostel is pretty basic and I find it on 10th Avenue which is extensively dug up for pipe works, not even any pavement left so I must climb into the doorway of The Happy Gecko.
