The Southern Lights

It was dark, very dark. A slight breeze was blowing in our faces, instantly freezing our breath as we exhaled, and our sweat was freezing to the inside of our parkas - It was 35 below zero and we were walking along the Castle Rock Loop. The moonless sky above us was showing off the star-filled expanses in a vivid clarity that, until that night, I had never experienced. The Milky Way was bright ... read more
