Congratulations on your marriage!!!
Belatedly since you just posted this blog...we await the blog about the wedding. I loved the keys, which we visited several times as my parents and sister and her family lived there. Thanks for the memories!

Thank You!
Our wedding was nice and quiet, just how we wanted it. We went camping on Cumberland Island and then stopped at the Courthouse in Brunswick, GA on the way home. We got married under the live oaks and Spanish moss on the courthouse grounds - It was perfect. We didn't tell our families until afterwards. Probably not enough to do a whole blog on, though.

The Big Party

Tall Ships
Fantastic you could attend tall ships racing in Norway Keith. How lucky are you to have been part of the crew for one on an epic voyage!!! The great tall ships of the world sailed into Sydney Harbour together for our Bicentennial celebrations in 1988. Now that was a sight.

The aviators
No wonder you are smiling from ear to ear...a 1941 Waco biplane...open cockpit...painted like a celebration...wind in your faces if you dare...brilliant!

I had put all of my blogs onto a personal website with the intention of getting them on Travelblog.org as well, but time got away from me. I am glad you are enjoying them - I forgot how great this community is until someone sent me a message recently. I will be caught up soon and then I will be blogging about some new adventures. Keith

Exploring the plantations
Keith...another great blog...we've lived in Richmond and can feel the sense of history through your writing. Really liked your mom's memories of the time she spent there. Keep on blogging! Dave

This was a fun blog to write. I have always loved my mom's story about the plantation and it fit so nicely here. I am glad you liked it. Keith

One Last Zodiac Ride

Fabulous adventures
Beautiful sites and sights and gorgeous photos that do them justice. Like you, I've been rather grumpy when told I need to stay below during a storm, where you not only miss the fun, but also are more likely to get seasick. But how great that the captain let you all out on the zodiacs for great photo ops. Love the small towns, auroras and ice bears too. Here's to more adventure!

Bergenhus Fortress 3

Water, velvet green and stone!
What a train journey and charming Bergen! I love that stone architecture, the charming, wooden buildings of the Bryggen waterfront, and those homes climbing the mountain--the latter two of which reminded of some towns in Alaska. And coming from dry Santa Barbara, CA and living now in dry Peru, I'm blown away by the greens here. Gorgeous!

Bergen's Waterfront 4

Excellent trip again Keith
Keith, many years before I worked on the Antarctica Water Plant & generating station, I was sent from Ryadh in Saudi to live for 6 months in Oslo. I was given a small apartment at Slotts Parken (up rhe hill and adjacent to the Slott (Palace). We were developing several Oil and Gas Sites for Saudi at Aker Engineering(now Jacobs Eng) at the Akerbrugge on the harbor front. Perhaps you called in there too. Also took the train many times to travel to Bergen. Lovely to read all about it again on your Blog. Cheers...... Bob Summers

Oslo and Bergen
It is great to hear from you, Bob! I am glad that this blog brought back some good memories for you. Oslo and Bergen are amazing places and the train between them is one of the most scenic I have taken.
