I am travelling around using my Mastercard and debit card but Ometepe only had one cash machine that accepted Visa. My only option was to use the local supermarket guy who would swipe my card and take a 10% commission. After just getting enough money to get off the island by ferry I encountered the same problem in Rivas, where they had multiple ATMs but they were all out of money expect for the vi ... read more
