Kunming again Pulled back from the brink. Many years ago, in South Africa when I was still jogging regularly, I experienced some chest pain every now and again. The doctor I consulted suggested I should visit a friend of his, a specialist heart surgeon. I assume X-rays were taken although I can’t remember that and on the strength of what I told him, it was decided to widen a narrow ... read more

I'm Hollander of origin, but have been living in South Africa since 1972. Retired now, I've been traveling by car, Land Rover and others, for the last five and a half years. First through Africa, then Europe and the Middle East towards Asia. I visited Pakistan, Nepal and India, went on to Laos via Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand and stayed in China, as back-packer for nine moths.
