Blog Kunming We are in Kunming, a town in the South West of China. We are in a Chinese Youth hostel called “the Hump” where a large wall is decorated with pictures concerning the epic effort by American Pilots to fly supplies in for the allied forces in China who were engaged in the repulsion of the Japanese forces who had invaded Burma. I'm Hollander of origin, but have been living in South Africa since 1972. Retired now, I've been traveling by car, Land Rover and others, for the last five and a half years. First through Africa, then Europe and the Middle East towards Asia. I visited Pakistan, Nepal and India, went on to Laos via Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand and stayed in China, as back-packer for nine moths.
