We finished with all the final preparations in Charleston and the Rum Runner was ready for the adventure ahead. It was a stressful last week with tons to do. On the last night in Charleston we were hanging out with friends who asked us if we were ready. Well- we realized that we may never really be ready, but we were ready enough. Rum Runners of lore were some of the best sailors on the seas. They had to outrun, outwit, and outsail the navy in order to make their spoils. We are proud to follow in the traditions of the past Rum Runners; to sail in the same waters, to find protected anchorages and friendly ports, as well as to enjoy some of the best rums the Caribbean has to offer- yar!
