See my friend..Ryan at Conch Shack...girls do show him some love and dudes...let the girls show him some love! Respect! Well.....dudes...be afraid...the Jamaican "Jew" is .....my friend...that is all. Hemingway's..used to be a place to get away and is now like a Mcdonalds with no character. Yoshi's...definitely a place to go...I miss the Chicken lunch special and the Cali rolls!!!...Da Munchi's..downtown...hey look...my Friend Louis rocks and his burgers are....really good!! Da Munchies is worth the visit..local..not the typical. Somewhere on the Beach...SOB's to us expats...Lou has done a great job with this place and am proud to call him a friend...the food is great and you will not go wrong with the crowd..expats and tourists together sharing some great party times!!! Rickys....to us locals or Flamingos to the vacationers...do not...DO NOT...spend your time without going to Ricky's....great ocean view...prices for food respectable...we live it beach time at Ricky's....Sunday, music, food, beverage and some great staff...RICKY's will always be my chill spot. One last place to put on the list....mini golf..sounds funny...go there on Thursday's and you will dance till the late morning hours....The Party ROCKS there!!!

facts
Turning the Tide: the confrontation in the restaurent did not happen with this Novak guy. (pg 76-77). This Novak fellow wasn't on the island as much as he claims. Small island....everybody knew each other. He claims to have had his possessions in one of the cottages during a time frame not possible, at least prior to late summer 1980. Phil Niskern...yeah right. (sarcasm intended)

Stupidity of Unfortunately
Some people can be ridiculous -i'm a Trinidadian so I know. Fact is programs like these teach idiots about these turtle. Only by experiencing such distinct moments, can one understand the severity of leather-back turtle endangerment. Truth be told I consider this blog to be wonderful and quiet the delight!

Dear Jay and Jennifer; Talk about timing. I just sent you, Jennifer a be-lated HAPPY BIRTHDAY wish and then thought maybe I should just check your blog to see how you are both doing and ....voila... It sounds like you really are enjoying the Landlubber lifestyle once more. Randy and I are in total agreement that for us these past four years have been a wonderful experience and making friends with people like you out here in the Caribbean have made it so rewarding with fabulous memories. Take care and we miss you but wish you all the best in all your endeavors. Keep in touch. Lynn and Randy S/V High States

I too have visited Spanish Wells and the Pinders are the greatest, which one? All of them, they are everywhere!
A number of years ago, I visited as a guest of T. Pinder and B. Browder, Floridians who are lucky enough to have a home on the Island. I was overwhelmed by the open and welcoming people of Spanish Wells. And the children that I befriended were so gentle and kind, they took me all over their paradise! I had a wonderful breakfast prepared by R. Pinder and his wife, a light but spicy fresh fish stew that I have since tried many times to duplicate, but can't seem to get it right! I also ate garlic and chunks of onion that they kept in jars of vinegar and spices. Yummy! I attended the island church and it was beautiful to see the island people walking towards the church in their Sunday best early in the day. What a paradise, this is the real Bahamas! If anyone can tell me how to make their Bahamian breakfast fish stew, I would very much appreciate it!! I hope to return one day ~ Cindy
