Clothing was sterilized here. Nearby is the crematorium and the gas chambers. The gas chambers were actually never used, and in fact, neo-nazi groups today claim that it was the Americans who built the chamber after the camp was liberated in order to further incriminate the Nazis. But it doesn't make sense that Americans would need to do this... the camp is incriminating enough.
