Approaching Greenwich

The end of the cruise would bring us here to Greenwich. In thirty plus years of visiting London this was one place I had never visited. I really wasn't going to get a chance this trip either. In order to make it back in time to see Les Miserables we were going to have to quickly hop off this boat and get back on another which would take us back to Westminster. Thinking about it now I wonder if we might have been able to walk around just a bit then take the Underground back. Next trip.

All those candy bars I bought to bring home probably melted last night. Even after all those ales I consumed last night I still had difficulty sleeping through the night. How'd those Victorian women in their layers of petticoats and necklines up to their chins survive the London summers? People must've absolutely reeked back then.
